School Bulletin – 18 September 2025

Message from ParentPay
We have been alerted to a fraudulent app in the Apple App Store that mimics ParentPay branding.

Security and safeguarding are top priorities at ParentPay Group, and we took swift action to report the app and are working closely with Apple to have it removed.

To date, we have recorded only 2 cases of affected parents.

Please be aware:

  • ParentPay does not have an app available for download from any app stores
  • To use ParentPay, parents should visit https://www.parentpay.com/ from a mobile phone or computer
  • After logging in, parents can save a shortcut onto their phone’s home screen

This message is for awareness only, so you can confidently and quickly respond to any parent queries.

Yours sincerely,ParentPay Group Customer Service Team

Parental Consultations
These will take place on the following dates:

  • 30 September – in person here at the school
  • 1 October – telephone call from class teacher
  • 2 October – telephone call from Mrs Hart P1A only
  • 7 October – in person appointments for parents/carers who require an interpreter. Appointments will be sent home, when we have booked the interpreters.

Bookings close on Tuesday 23 September, please book your appointment here – Parental Consultations (enter your email address).

How we communicate with you
The parent council reported that there was some confusion on how we communicate with parents and carers.  We use a system called Groupcall Messenger to send school information to you.  The system allows us to communicate with you by the following methods.

  • School App – EduSpot
  • Text
  • Email

The default for all messages is EduSpot. We use this as the main way as it allows you the parent or carer to contact us free of charge via wifi. If you have not done so please download EduSpot from your App Store.

If you have not downloaded and registered for the app, they system will automatically send you a text message. If the app is down for any reason a text will be sent.

Any larger messages are sent by email, however we do worry that not all parents and carers receive our emails as they may go into the junk/spam folder. Please add the following email address to your safe sender list – admin@craigentinny.edin.sch.uk

The Parent Council also alerted us that parents/carers often do not always understand the content of our messages or who they are aimed, for example which child. We will include the class reg in all future messages and try to be as concise as possible. We hope this helps. If you receive a message you do not fully understand, please contact us for clarification.

School Lunches
We have a large number of children bringing in a lunch from home and also having a school lunch booked. This is creating a large amount of food waste. Please do not book a meal on Parent Pay if you are sending a lunch from home. We appreciate your support in reducing our food waste.

P1 Health Questionnaires
If you have not already done so, can you return these forms to the school as soon as possible.

Flu Vaccine
Don’t forget to return these forms, please return even if your child is not to receive the vaccine.

Eat, Meet and Play (EMP)
The next EMP is tomorrow, 19 September at 12pm here at the school. Pupils must be accompanied by an adult.

Headlice
We have had a number of reports of Headlice in the school. Please follow this NHS Guidance

P7 Hoodies
Thank you to everyone who has already paid for their contribution to the leavers Hoody. If you still need to pay the £10.00, please can you do so. If you need more information or more time to pay, you can contact the Parent Council at craigiecouncil@gmail.com
