In Numeracy, we have been working on place value and addition. We have been practicing a variety of written strategies for addition and have started looking at subtraction, with a focus on partitioning in each.

In French, the children have been working on conversational vocabulary, including asking how we are.

In writing, we have been focusing on using different sentence openers to engage a reader, we have tied this in to wordless stories and our topic on the Vikings!

At the start of the year we created our class charter, focusing on children’s rights, duty bearers and what rights we would like to focus on in our class. We chose Article 19,12,31 and 40.

In our Vikings topic we have been learning lots about the Vikings including longships! We created a fabulous longship as a class focusing on our collaboration skills. We have also been using our technology skills to create our own viking longhouses and have taken part in researching Scandinavia.
