They can sign up by emailing <a href=\"mailto:engagingfamilies@edinburgh.gov.uk\">engagingfamilies@edinburgh.gov.uk<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><u>Raising Teens with Confidence courses<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Thursdays 20<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;February 20th \u2013 Thursday 27<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;March 12.30-2.30pm,<\/strong> at McDonald Road Library which is on the corner of Leith Walk &amp; McDonald road.&nbsp; &nbsp;The course will take place upstairs in the learning centre.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mondays February 24th -31st March 2025 6.15pm-8.15pm, &nbsp;Jack Kane Community Centre, <\/strong>208 Niddrie Mains Road Edinburgh EH16 4ND<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Tuesdays February 25th &#8211; April 1st 2025 Gate 55,<\/strong> <strong>6.15pm-8.15pm<\/strong>, &nbsp;55 Sighthill Road Edinburgh EH11 4PB<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Raising Teens with Confidence provides parents\/carers the opportunity to explore topics in an informal setting where facilitators, along with the materials, create a space for reflection and peer support. The course is <strong>relevant for parents\/carers of children aged primary 7 and high school years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The course runs for 6 weeks and will cover:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Why what you do matters<\/strong>: Explores definitions of emotional wellbeing and why relationships remain critical to developing positive emotional and mental health.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Amazing Teenage Brain<\/strong>: What\u2019s going on in there? An introduction to brain development research, helping to explain some teenage behaviour.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Risky Business<\/strong>: Managing adventure, risk, and resilience. Taking risks is a normal part of the teenage years and this session looks at why this is important and ways to positively manage this.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>It\u2019s Good To Talk<\/strong>: The importance of staying connected. Communication techniques can prevent arguments becoming the norm whilst supporting positive relationships.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Brain Under Stress<\/strong>: Overcoming setbacks and promoting resilience, understanding how the brain responds to stress.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Looking After Your Wellbeing<\/strong>: Coping with the changes, we explore how parents and carers can look after their own wellbeing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are 3x Raising Teens with Confidence courses coming up after the February break that still have some spaces left.
